I thought I would share a little bit about how and why we litter box train our puppies. When the puppies are about three weeks old, we introduce them to the box. We use wood stall pellets for the litter. We make their area smaller, which forces them to start using the box. This keeps the puppies cleaner and healthier, keeps their area cleaner, and makes it easier and faster for us to clean. When the puppies turn about 5 to 6 weeks old, we open up the doggie door for them to start going in and out on their own. It takes just a couple of days, and the puppies will start doing their business outside. We have gotten lots of feedback over the last year since getting the new puppy barn on how the pups have been so easy to house train.

When you get your puppy home here are 5 tips to help start potty training outside.
