About Us

Welcome to NMN kennels!

We live on a large farm just 3 miles north of Chariton Iowa. We are a state licensed and inspected kennel. We started breeding in 2011 and absolutely love every minute of it. We strive to raise happy healthy and puppies that are highly socialized before they leave for their new homes. We try to match every family with a puppy that will match their lifestyle. Our puppies are raised in our home and are handled daily by us and our kids. Our dogs are not just breeding dogs they are a part of our family and we most of our time with them.

We take a lot of pride in our dogs and puppies. We have puppies that currently reside in 30 states including Canada and also in Alaska and Russia.

Most of our time is spent with our dogs, our dogs are more than just breeding dogs to us, they are a part of our family, we spend a lot of time with them. The dogs have kennels in the dog barn for when we are not home. When we are home are dogs spend a lot of time swimming in the ponds on the farm, playing in the mud or just laying around under a shade tree.

We do get asked a lot if we allow visitors to come and see and play with the puppies and the answer is no, we do allow visitors any longer. There are several reasons why we do not allow visitors. 1: Puppies are not fully vaccinated until they are several weeks old and even at that age puppies can still get sick. People do not realize how parvo is transferred it can be on your clothing, shoes, high traffic pet areas you can bring it home to your pet. This is why it is so important to keep your young puppies away from any potential hazards. 2: We have to protect our home, family and pets from potential dangers. We offer to meet buyers in town in a public area for our safety and yours to make the process as stress free as possible. Now some people will say, you don't allow people to visit because your hiding things, and that is not true we are happy to facetime, videochat, etc. We hope we can make adding a new member of your family as stress free as possible for both you and us.

About Our Puppies

We live on a operational farm so the puppies are exposed to cattle, horses, cats, other dogs and all kinds of farm machinery noises. Our puppies stay with us until they are 8 weeks old. By 3 weeks of age, we starting to potty train them, we litter box train our puppies and it has been very successful in keeping the puppies cleaner and healthier. it also helps with house training when they go to new families.

Puppies receive dewormer at the ages of 2,3,4,6 and 8 weeks of age. We microchipped every puppy before they leave for their new homes. At 8 weeks of age, they are taken to the vet for their final health check where they receive a health certificate. We send home a large puppy pack with every puppy.  Puppy packs include a vet/shot records folder, collar, leash, food, toys, training pads, and a blanket.

We require a signed contract for all new puppy owners. The contract refers to our spay and neuter policies, health guarantees and are big one is making sure all buyers know that they must contact us first if for any reason the dog/puppy does not work out any longer, no matter what age they are.
